How to Apply

Letter of recommendation questions
The ESADE MBA program at the Ramon Llull University in Barcelona requires two professional recommendations. The recommender can answer the questions in English or Spanish.
Section 1: Short Answer Questions
- How long have you known the candidate? In which context? (Max 1000 characters)
The recommender should answer this question by providing the length of time they have known the candidate and the context in which they met. For example, the recommender could say that they have known the candidate for five years as their direct supervisor at work.
- What do you consider to be the candidate’s most noteworthy qualities? (Max 500 characters)
The recommender should answer this question by listing the candidate’s most positive qualities. These could include qualities such as leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- What are the areas in which you believe the candidate needs to improve? (Max 500 characters)
The recommender should answer this question by honestly and objectively assessing the candidate’s areas for improvement. These could include areas such as time management, public speaking, or technical skills.
- Please comment on the candidate’s potential for management. Describe an occasion in which you observed the candidate in a leadership role. (Max 500 characters)
The recommender should answer this question by providing an example of a time when they saw the candidate demonstrate leadership skills. This could be a time when the candidate led a team project, took charge of a difficult situation, or motivated others to achieve a goal.
Section 2: Ranking
The recommender will be asked to rank the candidate’s skills and qualities on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. The skills and qualities that the recommender will be asked to rank are:

- Organizational skills
- Teamwork
- Maturity
- Self-confidence
- Creativity
Additional Comments
The recommender will have the opportunity to provide additional comments about the candidate’s motivation, ability, leadership potential, or any personal qualities they would like the Admissions Committee to take into account.
